Furnald Hall, site of Furnald Folkfest. First place I ever really performed.

A few months ago, I heard “Cinnamon Girl” and it was like I was hearing it for the first time, and it plunged me into the Neil Young phase I always knew I was going to have. Well, it just happened again, kind of via Neil because I took a detour into Buffalo Springfield on Grooveshark. I realized “Bluebird” is just an utterly astounding song. I came to know it originally through Bonnie Raitt, who does a nice version of it, but the Springfield’s version really has teeth. Above, a lovely album cover, designed by Eve Babitz!
My love for country singer Miranda Lambert continues to know no bounds…S. just put Revolution on the iPod we have running through the big ’50s radio, and I came running down the stairs with excitement even though I’ve heard this record 100s of times. Congrats to her on the Grammy she won last week. I took this when she was at Terminal 5 in September.
